Canberra Success

Dear Parents/Caregivers                                  18 October 2016

Welcome back to Term 4! We hope you have all had a restful break and are ready to face the exciting conclusion to a fabulous year. “The Train” has already left “the station” with a busy and productive first day back at school.

As you know our Year 6 cohort has recently undertaken, a very successful educational tour of the national capital. Our students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

We were so proud of our girls who exhibited incredible resilience, impeccable manners and demonstrated outstanding knowledge and understanding of the many places they visited.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards these costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

We look forward to the term ahead although it is tinged with sadness at the thought of our girls moving into Middle School next year.

Kindest regards

Jill and Heather

  1. Dear Jill and Heather, thank you and the rest of the teachers for helping make Cleo’s theory of the nation’s capital into a wonderful practical experience. Unforgettable !
